PORCELAINE DE PARIS A pair of large, covered, baluster-shaped porcelain vases with polychrome decoration of pastoral scenes on each side in medallions framed by a wide fillet and gold arabesques set against a deep-blue background. The carved ormolu side grips feature rams' heads surrounded by vine branches and bunches of grapes; the base, grip and rim of the lids are in ormolu. Apocryphal Sèvres mark LL interlaced and S inside the lids. Late 19th century Minor missing gilding They are presented on circular carved and gilded wood pedestals with four legs terminating in faun paws and joined by garlands of foliage. Recessed veined marble top. Louis XVI style Wear on the gilding of the fluted legs, small chips to the marble.
