HOLLAND: BAIONNETTE Mannlicher 1895 - infantry: Iron handle - Lot 244
HOLLAND: BAIONNETTE Mannlicher 1895 - infantry: Iron handle with wooden plates held by two strong rivets. Cruiser and cap metal blackened very faded, functional lock. Cap with crowned "Z" stamp and cruise bearing the serial number "2561 N". Flat T-backed blade 355 mm long and 130 mm counter edge, polished white with some gray traces. It is marked on the left heel "HEMBRUG" and on the right heel "O" crowned. Leather scabbard without bowl with bayonet holder riveted to the scabbard and steel button, strongly maintained by a wire wound on 15 mm and stopped by a rivet. Damage to the stitching of the leather of the scabbard on 5 cm, side bouterolle, roughly sewn. Bayonet holder marked on the back "1913 - L.W. 1 - 6688 - B". The marking "HEMBRUG" and the punches "Z" and "O" crowned make it possible to determine a Dutch manufacture of WIERSMA (Z crowned), starting from 1904. The crowned "O" mark is that of B.J. OVERBEEK, master gunsmith in the Grenadiers & Jägers regiment, periodically present from 1889. Good condition - RARE. Category D - sale at major-.
