Renaissance ARMOIRE with seven ringed columns - Lot 93
Renaissance ARMOIRE with seven ringed columns Composed of three parts (base, body and entablature), it is inlaid with geometric motifs all along the front, and opens to two casements with windows flanked by ringed columns set on a base supporting the cornice. Under and over the window are carvings of cherubs and masks in carved wood foliage, typical of the Baroque style. The pedestal features two drawers, while the center of the pediment features a cartouche indicating the date of the work (1697). The frame is made of fir veneered with walnut, maple, plum and oak, with a green patina in the corrugated sections. Note the fine fittings and locks, as well as the interior hinges. 1 key.
