RETURN FROM EGYPT style SECRETARY Cherry veneer, flamed cherry and walnut burl. The top opens with a drawer above an inlaid flap decorated with a compass rose on the front. The interior is lined with green morocco with a gilded reserve, and features a theater framed by numerous drawers. The lower part opens with three drawers. Beautiful ornaments in chased ormolu underline the style of the piece, notably lion's heads as handles and Pharaoh busts in caryatids on the sheathed side jambs ending in feet.
