SABRE D'OFFICIER DE LA GARDE NATIONALE, model 1821, Monarchie de Juillet. Brass mounting with side branch and narrow quillon plate. Beaded cap with short tail decorated with laurel branches. Wooden handle covered with black waxed calfskin and copper filigree. Curved blade with hollow sides, engraved and gilded on the first half: on the front, a cartouche bears the inscription "GARDE NATIONALE" framed by foliage. Rear face similarly decorated with a trophy of arms and foliage, inscription illegible on the back. Black patent leather scabbard with three brass fittings.
