SARREGUEMINES "Elephant jug Circa 1920-30 Zoomorphic pitcher in fine earthenware coated with glazes colored by metallic oxides, known as Majolique. Bears the shape number "4470", which corresponds to a "Cruche Eléphant" in the Sarreguemines faienceware number list. Overmolding of the "Elephant" pitcher from Sarreguemines Digoin, provenance not proven. Obtained by casting, it depicts a white elephant sitting on its hindquarters, trunk pointing upwards. Shape number "4470 1" engraved under the base. Height: 27.5 cm Slight wear
