The bottle was probably blown in the Lalique glassworks. Perfumer François Coty, seduced by the creations of René Lalique (1860-1945), suggested in 1907 that he put his talent at the service of perfumery. Thus began their collaboration. Their work in tandem revolutionized the perfume industry, making it possible for the first time to present perfumes in attractive bottles at affordable prices. From then on, Lalique began to create more and more perfumes, and turned his attention to industrial glasswork, to which he would eventually devote himself. René Lalique, already the master jeweler of Art Nouveau, became the master glassmaker of Art Deco.
