SARREGUEMINES "Cigar holder Circa 1870 Cigar-holder in fine earthenware coated with glazes colored by metallic oxides, known as Majolique. Carries the shape number "277", which corresponds, in the list of numbers of fancy and decorative objects at the faïencerie a "Porte-cigare Nègre". Obtained by casting, it features a man, barefoot, dressed in work clothes and wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat, holding a large, sloping, woven basket that doubles as a cigar holder. Debossed markings under the base: "C 03 - SARREGUEMINES" for the factory, "C 07 - MAJOLICA", shape number "277" and "T" shaping mark. Height: 15.50 cm Wear
